IIT Roorkee Thomason Alumni Association - Nepal Chapter

 

Activity of IIT Roorkee TAA - Nepal   Social Gathering, Distribution of Certificates and ID Cards, 2004 The Alumni Association organized a Social Gathering program in 13th May 2004 at Ashok Party Palace, Patan, Kathmandu. On the occasion Certificates and ID cards were also distributed to Founding and Life Members of the Association. More than hundred members with their spouse participated in the gathering. Senior most alumnus Mr. Shankar K. Malla in his speech thanked the organizers and highlighted on the need of more technical sessions among the Roorkee alumnus. President of the association Mr. B. K. Padhan expressed is gratitude to all participants on making the event a grand success.     Talk Program on River Management, 2003   The alumni association in collaboration with Society of Irrigation Engineers, Nepal (SIREN) and Maccaferri Nepal Pvt. Ltd. organized a half day talk program on River Management on 21 November 2003 at Department of  Water Induced Disaster Prevention Auditorium, Shree Mahal, Pulchowk, Kathmandu, Nepal. The program was participated by around 50 members of IIT Roorkee TAA, SIREN and others interested individuals.      Annual General Meeting / Election - 2002 Kathmandu, December 27 2002, Annual General Meeting, Election and Social Gathering of IIT Roorkee TAA Nepal Chapter is completed successfully. The gathering was participated by 78 alumnus and 32 spouses, totaling the social gathering of 110 persons. Number of Life Membership of the association is reached 146. Mr. Bhubanesh Kumar Pradhan re-elected unopposed for the second term to serve as President of the Alumni Association, Congratulations to him !!!. The AGM also elected 11 executive members unopposed. The newly elected Fourth Executive Committee members and their contacts are presented in the Fourth Executive Committee Section.    The fourth Executive Committee extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. P. P. Adhikari (Founding Member of the association) for his skillful conduct of the election procedure as Election Officer - Designate.        Meeting with Senior Alumni, 2002   A meeting with Er. Bhupendra Kumar Agarwal (1963), Founder Vice President IIT Roorkee TAA Muzaffarnagar Chapter, India, was held on 10th October 2002 at Kathmandu. Mr. Agarwal accompanied with his wife Mrs. Agarwal and son Dr. Manesh Agarwal. Prof. Prakesh is keen in maintaining relations with the alumnus. The meeting was participated by more than 20 senior alumnus of the local chapter including executive members. Participation on the program was more than hundred Roorkee University alumnus, faculties and their families. The participant included the senior most alumnus of RUAA-Nepal Chapter  Er. Shanker K. Malla and many previous faculty members of Roorkee University including Prof. A. G. Mirajgaoker, Prof. S. V. Sahasrabudhe, Prof. P. K. Sahud.  Announcement on launching of this Web Site and number of Life Member crossed to 120  was also made on the occasion by the present executive committee.
